About Me

Hello, I'm Julia
I grew up in Kenya, before studying in Canada and the UK. I began teaching English Literature to teenagers in inner-city London, before training as a psychotherapist. Though I loved teaching, I transitioned to running my therapy practice full time a few years ago. I live in Kilifi with my partner and two children.
My Approach
I support individuals navigating transitions, whether due to life's inevitable turbulence, or because of deeper emotional patterns. At particular points in life, we find ourselves stuck in cycles that feel painful, familiar, and unchanging. With support, we can gain more awareness of ourselves and our patterns, and craft lives that are rich with meaning and fulfilment. Self-awareness offers us choice in how we live our day-to-day lives; with choice comes relief and then growth.
I work with adults, older teenagers, and couples. My clinical work in multicultural London, and with my upbringing in Nairobi, allows me to appreciate diverse cultural frameworks for mental and emotional health.
My Practice
I enjoy working with clients in-person at my light-filled garden studio, which offers a view of the sea.
For those in Nairobi, I offer a hybrid approach, combining in-person and online sessions during my regular visits.
I also work with clients internationally, connecting with people across the world.
